Youth Shelters
Various Youth Shelter designs have been developed since 2000 and further designs are in progress. The shelter is a steel structure with a roof, open entirely to one side, allowing young people to congregate under cover but remaining visible to passing thoroughfare. The shelters are all-steel robust units, vandal-proof and can be supplied painted in the corporate colours of local councils etc.
Incorporating lifting eyes to the roof, the shelter is easily and quickly transportable and site locatable. Ground-fix is achieved via fixing-bolts through the base into pre-cast concrete blocks ( if sitting on grass ).
Re-siting is very straightforward. Youth Shelters are well-received by youth initiatives and initial interest can be kindled though community associations getting kids-groups to paint the interiors as they would like. ( As seen in the pictures opposite of shelters sited in Knowsley )
